Recently I have had to resynchronize my key fob after getting out of the car on numerous occasions before I could lock the door or open the hatch from the remote. I have recently replaced the battery thinking this may have been the problem but it seems every time i am away from the vehicle I have to resync when I get back to it. Anyone have any ideas?
I've been following several threads on 2000 Corvettes with the same issue. It seems that the fobs are going bad at about this time in their lives. In each case, it took a new fob to fix the issue.
Gene Culley has them advertised for around $60. I'm afraid that's what it will take. As soon as I read your question, I assumed it was a 2000 before I even looked at your profile.

I'm having this same issue with my 2000 FOB. I put in a new battery, but it still needs to be reset every now and then. It will work fine for weeks and then out of nowhere require a reset. It resets fine by holding down lock/unlock for about 10 secs, so I havent considered it a big deal.
I agree with 65GGvert. They appear to last about 7-9 years then fail for no apparent reason. Nothing fixes them with rare exceptions such as a bad soldering joint or bad battery. I've contacted GM asking to identify the manufacturer to which they refuse to tell me saying to contact the dealer. I know they are assembled in Mexico but that's all. As stated, contact Gene Culley for replacements.
