Hi Dave
Not done yet...Stay tuned. Nomi, Wayne and myself are working on some more stuff for each of our cars...Wayne and Nomi are doing a long distance stereo install, Wayne has some rear bling on the way, Nomi is helping me with an under the hood project and I know Nomi has some awesome mods coming up that we are trying to work out all the kinks on. Top secret stuff ya know shhhhh.. We is busy busy busy modders
You may want to try some Cleartastic to cover the insides of those splash guards. Maybe Ed at TKO Performance (Forum Vendor) can sell you some sheets of the polyethylene film that you can cut to size. www.tkoperformance.com
They are located here on Long Island.
Wow, they really look nice!!!!! Maybe you can find a clear bra installer that uses 3M materials in you area and have him cover the whole rocker panel area including the ducts. If you go that route be sure to have him wrap it under the car to cover all the painted surface. I know it's saved the paint on our cars. David
Definitely going to have to add something to protect these - ESPECIALLY if you paint the insides (even with flex additive) or they are going to get hammered with gravel and look worse than what you are trying to protect! In essence you are just putting a hard painted flat wall perpendicular and to and only inches from the source of gravel. These will also now reverse the direction of at least 50% of the gravel that would have flown past the car previously without issue.
Ideally these would have been made with a somewhat resilient material that was black and needed no painting and would very difficult to chip (like the C6 factory guards), but that is not the case here.
I have looked at several solutions for these in the year I have been waiting on them - Line-X, High-Strength Neoprene, ClearMask and all of these have their positive and negative sides. I still have not decided what I am going to do to mine (if/when I get my replacement set), but it is going to take some additional time/money.
If these are painted with factory matching paint, at the very least I am thinking you should be adding ClearMask ASAP - that will offer some protection and can be replaced when it gets beaten up.
I am also adding ClearMask to the mating surface; otherwise, if I (or God forbid another owner someday) wants to remove them, maybe the panels underneath will not be scarred to the point of having to be repainted!

I hear you... Just put out some feelers on cleartastic sheets for the inside of them...

Thanks Jack.... Our paint guy is pretty good. I had to get a new hood and he painted it and you can not tell. We did a new hood on Lori's car and he painted it and it matched perfect. He even straightened out her side skirts and rear wing and repainted them and the color was right on....
