[Z06] Clicking sound when accelerating...
From a dead stop, if i accelerate a bit hard i hear this clicking noise coming from the front left wheel, could this be my endlinks/bushings shot?
Same thing happens if i go reverse, same spot, same clicking...
Noise is not speed constant but it seems weight transfer affects it, it starts, it clicks without pattern or rythm then as i go faster the noise goes away...
Any input is appreciated, thanks!
It is common for the rear axle to cause a popping noise.
Does it pop more than once, or just when you change directions of the loading on the driveshaft?
It could be a loose axle nut or rust buildup in the axle spline.
There are posts covering the fix, but in general, you need to remove the axle nut, push the shaft in just enough to lube the backside of the spline and surface where the CV hub contacts the back of the bearing hub. Then torque the axle hub to 118 ft-lbs. GM now recommends using non-permanent loctite and torquing to 140 ft-lbs on C6's with this problem. I torqued my 04 to 118, and have not had a problem with the nut backing off. The nuts are supposed to be self-locking and it is recommended that you replace the nut anytime it is removed.

It's driving me nuts, do worn end-link bushings make this type of sound...?
I put the car up into the air and did a dry park check (checked wheel bearings, ball joints, brakes, EVERYTHING!). Nothing was worn or loose as I could tell. I even pulled the rear shafts just to be treated to the same sound.
I have a 2001 so I had plastic sway bar end links that appeared fine during ALL of my checks. I replaced them anyway.
The sound was GONE. Even out of the car you couldn't tell they were worn but that's what the sound was.
Hope this helps you. For me it was a 45 min. $100 fix.
Brian-
Can worn out end links really cause that clicking? seems like an unusual sound for such a part...
