I love my '99 Mag red, tan,tan with the factory mag wheels. I paid $28,500.00 four years ago w/38,500 mi. on the clock. I got 29.2 mpg and 29.6 mpg on a 400 mile (round trip) last weekend. I have owned all models of Corvette over the years (no C-6) and the C-5 is much more comfortable and rides better than any earlier cars. Noise with non- runflats is not a concern. Don't be afraid of getting an auto transmission. Very easy to drive in ANY traffic. Unless you are going to do a lot of racetrack time you don't need the 6 speed in my opinion. The vert has more than enough space even with the top down (use soft luggage) to take enough stuff for long trips. Our folding chairs for car shows fit easily under the folded top. My insurance is $450.00 w/ $100.00 comp. and $1000.00 coll. deductible per year in Oregon. Enginewise the car is bullet proof. You may have a few problems, as we all do, with window, lock and mirror malfunctions, but don't let that stop you from buying one of the best values in a used car in this country!
