Ok gentleman, I am honestly clueless when it comes to cams. Ive been searching the threads but have been unable to really figure anything out. I want to run a cam that is still streetable. Ive looked into Lgs g5x series and from what i understand the x3 would be a good match. So what do you gentleman recommend is pretty much what im asking. Thank you

Firstly the gentlemen will ask what the purpose of your new found power will be used for. Street, show, strip or autocross racer. Google up "how to choose a camshaft" and sift through what you find. Comp Cams website even has free cam selector software. You should be aware of the basics, from what I read the camshaft is the most important and difficult mod selection.

The best cam is the one thats right for your intended use and engine combination, there is no "Magic cam" that will do everything for everybody. Comp Cams and others are a great resouces for information and assistance on selecting the "Right Cam" for you.
If you go G5X-3, make sure to upgrade the lifters. I had a lifter go bad and toasted the cam. Only 10K miles or so -- and really no hard driving. It's not the first I've heard of the G5X-3 and lifters going bad. I replaced it with a custom grind cam from ECS and LS7 lifters. So far, so good. I still need to get it tuned, but I'm happy so far.
Def. More show then anything. Im not big with Tracking the car, once in a while ill go. Ill def do the package deal through Lg. Not sure what lifters are?

Comp Cams 224/224/.581-114 or 224/228/.581/.587-114 are very good all around proven performers with good street manners (I had a 224/224 in my last Vette and it was great!)
A bad lifter is just bad luck, changing then may make them last longer or shorter. If you want a cam with good power and a lot of low end grunt, get the X1 from MTI...It is a reverse split design that will give you lots of power down low. If your car is primarly a street car your better off with a cam that you dont have to spin 6000 rpm to get max power. The G5X3 is a terrific cam for the track, one of the best, but it benefits from high revs which are not often attainable on the street, overall if will give more power, but less torque...I all depends on your preferences and use.
