It seems nice enough, although it has a tape player in the dash, quite strange....also has the CD changer as well at least.
I asked the dealer to get me the build code info to see what it all came with, waiting to hear back.
Also according to carfax it as involved in an accident early in it's life, that is one factor.
I also cannot decide if I would want a MY vette....it is a cool color and the car IS supposed to be a fun car but it is BRIGHT!!!
I think you should purchase what you stated you wanted in one of your earlier posts on this subject (different car):
"I have narrowed it down to the following:
6 speed.
Dark blue or silver.
Targa top.
Mileage less than 100,000 miles.
Less than $20,000(low number I know but it would be within our comfort level)"
Well....looking around the dark blue is only available for 3 years and is quite difficult to find it seems.
Silver is....nice enough but I am no longer as sure I would want this color.
Also it seems finding a vette that does NOT have the light oak interior seems an impossibility... no offense to owners with this color interior but I dislike it.
Look around, that price is High in this market. I bought my '04 with 30K miles for $27.5K a year and a half ago. There are definitely deals to be had
if one shops around!
I kept looking over and over and kept trying to pull the trigger but then would back up- thinking a different color would make me happy or a $1000 off would be a better deal. Finally I stopped asking and realized I was getting more confused and frustrated every week that passed by. They all started looking the same- and my indecision was starting to take the fun of the Corvette experience away.
I finally pulled the trigger and purchased a 02 pewter vert with 15,000 miles- one owner and wished I had done it weeks earlier. I can't wait to get home and get in it daily.
Don't let indecision keep you away from the Corvette experience. Once you get it- regardless of color- it will be the right one!

That was one of the main reasons I bought the CE. I LIKED the interior. I wanted something different. The two-tone shale is awesome!
The car definitely looks good and miles are very reasonable at 40K. Exhaust is definitely not stock. You could try and negotiate an acceptable price and if an agreement cannot be reached, move on to another C5.

Any thoughts?
I have an '01 MY coupe and mine has a tape deck and the 12 disk changer in it.

I would have someone familiar with C5's take a close look at it before committing to anything. It is an almost eight year old car with almost 85K on the odometer. Yes, it's a Corvette - but it's also a used car.
Here's a link to a handy checklist that you can print off before you can go look at the car - click here.
I am a strong believer in not compromising on your dream car. If you want a particular color or body style, etc... wait until you find that car. Don't settle for something else - because it will never quite measure up. Good luck, and let us know how you do.
The color is right and the interior color is right, the only issue I have is the miles which although in the normal range for a car of that age is kind of high for a corvette,it seems a lot of owners never drove their cars....
I appreciate the input and this will be a continuing saga I am sure.
The Vette in Charleston, I would offer him $18,500 to start the ball rolling. Dealers seem to mark them up about 3K-5K I'll bet you can buy it for 20K. I think they have had that car on the lot for a while. Take it out for a spin but don't give them the idea that you really want it. Maybe the colors wrong or the color of the interior isn't right. If I had time I could see how low they'll go! If they do go for the 20K make them throw in an extanded warrenty!
I know how frustrated you are.
The exact right car will show up, at exactly the right price, and at exactly the right time.
Just do the footwork and enjoy the hunt.
