Steering wheel is locked up in the high tilt position, lever will not disengage to adjust steering wheel.
Is this something that is easy to get to and fix? Any quick fix ideas?
After playing with it some, the lever itself is in the disengage position (towards the driver), so I'm guessing there is to be a rod or something connected to the front of the lever assembly, to keep the lever in the most forward postion and when pulled towards the drivers, disengages the lock on the steering column for adjusting.
What am I suppose to be looking for?
Thanks in advance

Don't have a car handy to look at, but I would think you need to remove the air bag to get to the tilt lever. Maybe someone that has a service manual can give you some hints.
Hi, every now and then someone posts the same thing as you. It happened to me last year. Stuck up in the air and the lever felt like it wasn't connected. What happens is the lock gets stuck on top of a gear tooth instead of in it. Here's what I did to fix it. I shook the wheel up and down while playing the lever in and out, that didn't work so I then moved the wheel in and out a few times and then got mad at it and smacked it on the top and bottom in both directions while moving the lever, and cursing the GM engineers, after a few real good smacks, and the dog running away from me, it all fell back into place and haven't had the problem since. Try It it really works most of the time.
Good luck
