I have a 2001 coupe 6-speed with the Selective Ride Control and of course the Active Handling. My question is I have always had my traction control on. How many of you leave it in this mode, or drive in the comp. mode, or do you switch back and forth?
Well once I had everything on when approaching on ramp for the Southern State Parkway. I was doing 40 and speed on the parkway was about 55 in the right lane with a 7-car length window for me to merge. Should be no problem even if it wasn't a Vette. Problem was that when I was about half way into the merge accelerating there was some sand that caused the active handling Traction control to yank all power from the car for a moment or two. Those few moments almost caused a bad situation and caused a close call for nothing. There was plenty of room and everybody was doing fine until my vehicle decides to stop accelerating.
After that I always switch to comp mode at startup as my right foot can deal with traction issues when they arise.
