Default Seats question

Here's the deal, I've got a C3, but a co-worker has a 98 and asked me if I know anyone in the Dallas area that can restore her seats. They have the corvette stitching in them and she just wants them to look new. Anyone know someone in dallas that can do that? I don't know too much about C5's, so any help is appreciated.

You (she) should simply get a new set of seat skins and be done with it; they'll (the seats) be brand new! In addition, new seat foam would probably be a good idea as well.

Here's my transformation:

After

I got mine for $575 shipped to my front door. One can get them with or with out the head rest logo and they can be done two-tone as well - same price.

I've seen some sets going for a grand and more, count me out. The set I have are 100% ALL leather and fantastic workmanship.

DIY, it's painless. I'll send you a PM with instructions. You might want to do the rocking seat fix at the same time if it's an issue.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm not doing anything. This is a lady I work with that wants it done, and she is not the type that would do it herself, and I have no desire to do it for her. I appreciate the info you sent, and I will send it to her, but I think she just wants to know if there is someone around here that can do it, so I've posted in the southwest section. Seriously, thanks though. I hope I'm not comming off rude b/c it's people like you that are willing to share info that makes this forum great.

Thanks for the compliment! If you Google oaktreemotorsinga.com you'll find where I purchased them from. I replaced the outer foam on the drivers seat and re-used all others. Here's a tip - Put a piece of carpet over the bottom springs before placing the foam back in place. The wires are very thin and simply cut into the foam. The carpet will make this a non-issue going forward.

PM iflex2_fitness she used to live just north of Dallas and did a lot of mods to her Vette's interior so she may know someone that can recover your friends seats

Do you guys have any experience or info on any GM OEM covers & foam if in fact it is available? I am leaning more towards an all black leather sport seat replacement just like my originals. Looks like the Vette essentials are more "two-toned" type covers.

but he his a seller on that auction site. It's not a .com.

And if you get then without the logo, they will look just like GM oem. Except they will be real leather. Not sure if the gm ones are leather or pleather. At any rate, they will cost much more than $575

Oh, okay. thanks for the info. I think the GM ones are a combination of leather/pleather and about double the cost. I defintely want to replace the foams cause they are starting to "flatten" out and also want to do the "rocking chair" fix while I'm there.
