It's totally stock accept for a K&N filter. I wanna put cat-backs and possibly the cross-over pipe. I'm wondering how much power this will add, or what kind of rear-wheel horse im lookin at? Should i have it dyno-tuned as well? Anyone know of any good-tuners in the rochester or buffalo area. Z06 is a 6-speed with 28k miles.
I used to own a mustang and had it tuned at a local guy and he couldnt get the auto tranny shifting right some im leary about having him do it. Thx for any info guys
what he said.
headers & hi flo catted x pipe and a good tune should net you 25 to 30 rwhp i would add a cold air like halltech or something to make it breath better too. KEEP THE Ti EXHAUST it sounds soo sweet with mods.

I've got the K&N air filter, its a dual(cleaners) set-up is that good enough for cold air intake?
I've got an 01 Z06 w/ Vararam intake & Dynatech Supermaxx system (Stainless LT's + X-pipe), stock Ti exhaust, no other mods. Than got it dyno tuned at the Vette Doctors here on Long Island, it made roughly 380/380 on the dyno.
Personally I'd prefer a little deeper muscle sound than the stock Ti's give but it has huge upsides keeping it:
1.) Obviously there is no cost compared to buying an aftermarket one
2.) Flows just about as well as most aftermarket ones
3.) Its titanium and very lightweight
4.) The Ti exhaust is one of the cool and unique things about a Z06 so its nice to leave it stock
5.) No highway drone, and it doesnt sound much different from stock at idle and low rpm, but will scream when you open it up. So its a nice sleeper effect and also nice to have it quiet when you want, like to listen to radio or have a conversation etc.
6.) Has a unique exotic sound to it.
It really depends on what kind of rwhp your looking for. As stated some add on's won't give you much hp to the rear wheels but you do have to remember air makes hp. The more air you get into the cylinders the more hp you will make. A good intake, headers, and exhaust will give you some but not a lot of hp. To really get high hp you need to add a set of heads and cam or go with a blower. As for myself I have gone crazy with my car. I have a 402 stroker with a T trim Vortec blower, American Racing headers, GHL exhaust, and the list goes on. Running stock Z06 heads and stock Z06 cam and I'm making 604 rwhp and 568 rwtq. Looking to add a good set of heads and a cam and should see over 700 rwhp. Not sure why though because in this car 600 rwhp is crazy fast. No problem jumping this thing sideways in 3rd gear. When going with hp you'll also need some good tires to put the power to the ground or the tires will just spin. Gary.
Congrats on the Z06!!! I love mine I am sure you will enjoy!!!See SIGNATURE for my Modds!!! I love the way my TI exhaust sounds, its not the loudest exhaust out there but my LG Headers and X-pipe make my tone perfect for me!!!
lol gairno, I don't mean this to offend but I think people like you are just addicted to HP numbers the way junkies are addicted to drugs. With my mere 380rwhp I still often will get slightly sideways shifting into third gear, and on the street its more than enough power. The problem is traction not power. I couldn't even imagine 600-700rwhp in this car on the street. That power would be completely unusable. My power level now already is not fully usable in first and second gear. If its a properly set-up drag car running around with slicks etc, thats a different story, but not on street tires, unless your racing starts at 60+mph and you don't have cops or fear
