Carravaggio pricey but bolt to the stock seat rails. I bought this because I needed something that allowed me to put a harness bar and 6pt belts in the car. Another option is the Corvette Sport seats if you are not tracking the car.
About 2 years ago I was in the same delima. Race seats for long trips/ cruises?, Change seats before track events? Here's what I did. Cheaper than most, better leather than all, thicker padding everywhere, and it can be used with a 5 or 6 point harness, ECS seat conversion. This pic is from my car. I'm going to find me either some C6 seats, Dodge SRT seats, and before you say anything, you may want to both take look at them and sit in them, or some Corbeau's. I remember a while back, someone came across some Viper SRT10 seats for a good price and put them in.
I went with the C6Z seats. Pics here http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=2081952
They are a huge improvement in support, and with the Z06 embroidered on they look factory. If you consider the viper seats, they are comfortable and good looking. They are also heavy and a lot of work, money or both to get in.

We know that they're seat covers, why pay for something you don't need. Our seat frames (C5Z06) are fine, why buy the whole seat
C5 seats and the CZ06 seats suck ***. Try and take a hard turn much less track the car with the stock seats. I have to brace myself against the door and center console with my knees just to stay in the car during hard turns. These seats are worthless and to make matters truly un-tolerable, Chrysler has some of the best seats available in their SRT cars (all of them) and those cars for the most part do not cost nearly as much. Not only do they hold you very well, they look good and do not wear out or crack in 2000 miles!
Here are mine. Caravaggio covered Sparcos, fully reclining, using the stock sliders (Power Drivers side). I got them used from Craigslist for $1,000. I think I got a sweet deal. Oh yeah, they came with the matching leather covered door trim shown in the pics.
I did this in my car, then when other people saw it and sat in my seats the idea started to spread. It doesn't do anything for the leg bolsters, but it sure helps for your upper body. So far I haven't heard any complaints or regrets from anyone that has done this mod, but I have had a lot of people thank me.

With the six point harness, harness bar and the conversion I don't move at all. I agree the stock seat are the worst I've ever sat in for roadcourse duty.

Here they are in my car:
Here is the thing.
The general wisdom here has been that none of the reclining sparco's fit. So based on that, either the seat have been modified to make them fit, OR these are maybe recovered Corbeau A4's or something else... Either way I'm hoping for the possibility that we have another seat option available to us. Carvaggio has a price for converting stock seats, and then their GT3 and Sport seats. None for Recovered Sparco's.
Any other details on them?

When I flipped them over I found a Sparco sticker on the bottom of the seat. That's what leads me to believe that they are recovered Sparco Milano or Torinos seats. The do not fit perfectly. I got them with some Aluminum "c" shaped adapter rails that allow you to mount them to the OEM sliders. This raises the seats 1" over stock height which I had to get used to.
I ended-up replacing the passenger side adapter rails with 1/2" thick aluminum bar stock to lower the seat and to move them out a bit to get them to slide further back to maximize leg room. These still don't slide as far abck as the OEM seats because they are a bit wider and the seat backs bump up agaist the center console. It took a considerable amount of work to get the holes drilled just right and we had to counter sink the mounting bolts. It took me and my neighbor who is an amatuer machinist/fabricator a few hours over a weekend to get the passenger side right.
I just left the Drivers side alone and got used to the higher seat position. I'm only 5'7" its fine and I have plenty of leg room. I still use the easy seat entry feature with the power sliders to get in and out of the car due to the bigger side bolsters.
