I have a torn outer cv boot and can't decide if I should get a cv boot repair kit or a reman axle assembly. Axle assembly would be the quickest, but I have read hear that some of you are having problems with reman axles from oreilley's etc. leaking from the output shaft seal. I am going to replace the seal also when I'm in there. Any suggestions?
I had the same problem on my '99.
I took my axle out and over to our local Chev. Dealer and had them replace the boots.
If you get one of the remans you won't know what vehicle it came out of. It could have come from a high mileage vehicle or one from a race track.
It is always better to put the same one back in that came from the factory.
Just my opinon!
