ok. what the hell is....
the console bezel called... the one that goes around the shifter.... 
i've been searching all the part sites and no one has one... must have a specific name.... not the boot but the whole plastic piece around the shifter and up onto the dash.....

Runs from the console compartment up onto the dash.
C5 parts section them for sale on occasion.
Looks like you can get new for @ $138
