I just bought a set of Kuhmo Ecsta MX tires (245/45/17, 275/40/18) and I am now looking to get some new wheels. I know that the factory wheels are 17x8.5 and 18x9.5... but I found a set of C6 Z06 replicas that are 17x9.5 and 18x10.5... Will my current tires work on these wider wheels? I just want to make sure before I drop the cash.
I don't think so, I didn't check, but if your new tires are stock size, I think you'll have problems with the wider rim.
I got some z06 rims recently and the tires for those rims are just wider.
Go to tire rack or do a google search for tire calculator. You can dump in the tire info and it will give you inches, etc. to allow you to compare. The z06 tire is simply wider. I don't think a stock tire will safely fit on the wider tire.
Thanks... that is what I suspected.. but I just wanted to double check with someone.
On another note... I am looking at the C6 Z06 replicas from Corvettes of Houston and I am wondering how close these are the the real thing? And what wheel quality are these? The reason I am asking is that I was looking at tomzwheels.com at the O.E. Concepts replica wheels and they look a lot different than the ones at Corvettes of Houston. The COH wheels I cannot determine who makes them. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I should go to get these wheels?
The OE's and factory reproductions will be the cheapest. Usually the OE's have a one year warranty vs. three for the factory repro's, so they run about $50-$75 more/set.
The bolt patterns are different for some of the other wheels offered by other vendors, but I wouldn't say they look drastically different.
The weight is the biggest issue with any of them.
