Replacement top headliner. Do I really need one?
I finally found a reputable shop to do the installation. They agreed it would be faster if I supplied my own top. The current estimate for labor is $600, which seems to be the best I can do in my area.
I went ahead and ordered a new top today from Zip Products and had it shipped to the garage. There's one problem. I just noticed that the headliner is sold separately. It's an extra $180.
Do I really need the separate headliner in my car? It's just for sound deadening, correct? Does it provide any significant level of insulation? Will I noticed that much difference in how warm or cool the car is?
Maybe he can simply remove my old headliner and reinstall it? Or are these a one time use part?
