Default painted rear facia

A question for the members that self painted their rear facias is has the paint started to fad or chip or peel off any at all. Does the non professional (bodyshop) paint gun method seem to be holding up good or do you think its too early to tell on most cars done??? I'm wanting to do it on my torch red but scared that I will reqret it down the road..

Sorry, can't say yet. I've only had mine for a couple of weeks, but still holding well.

i was wondering the same thing...

If you do it at home, make sure you get the fine line tape (not just painters tape and such)

I had mine painted in a body shop and have had no problems at all with the black paint. Here are some photos for you to consider.

This shows the original front fascia with the front vents painted black. The top is black also and the windows are tinted black. My Wife and I.

And here it is with the Tiger Shark front fascia. Again, note the black vents and top.

Here is a close up of the back. The extra text is a photochop so ignore it. Note that we left an "edge" of the silver around the rear. This little edge is what really set is off.

Here is a couple days after I painted the rear with rattle-can.

Almost 3 years later and looks the same as the day I painted. No fading and no peeling problems. I really enjoy the way it looks too.

Looking great guys! Those of you that DIY what was the process/exact paint you used on when you did yours?

Thanks,
