Looking into a VRX5 cam, but I want to do heads as well. Should I get Patriot LS6 stage 2 or 3? Or what? I have full bolt ons with a 100-150 shot. Thanks for any help.
AFR 205 or TFS 215. There is nothing else I would put on my car (w/a 346)
I think personally, the TFS215 is a great head. I have used both it and the 235 (402ci) now, however the AFR205 has proven itself many times and can be installed with stock pushrods(though I would replace them) and
rockers. You will need 7.5" PR and RR for the TFSs.
Also, sorry, I'm not a Patriot head fan, though I know some on this board may help you more w/those.
I used AFR 225's incase I decided to go all out later (which I did). The larger heads on the stock bottom end with a baby 224 cam still let me run 11.33 @ 120...third place on ZO6 fast list. Best was 124mph.
MY 2 cents with actual data. Also had unported 90mm Fast, LG Longs, ET Streets on stock gear thru stock mufflers, no cats. I thought it was pretty fast for NA with the baby cam and large heads. A better driver probably could have squeezed a lot more from it !!
If you want a budget head like Patriot, go with Livernois. They make a great CNC'd 243 casting, and the sales guy, "Chad", is a Corvette owner as well. I had their Stage 2 243 head, and it fed my 408ci Camaro to run the same times as my buddy's L92/L76 headed car. And of course, his heads were all the rage... until I showed that the budged CNC'd heads were just as good.

If you are going with an expensive aftermarket casting, then of course TFS and AFR are producing great, repeatable results. If I went with expensive heads, I'd do one of those as well.
Save your money and work up the stock 243s... That's what I did on a 408 and put down 685/715 on a 200 shot. The motor's built for more so maybe I'll try a 300 shot..... Hmm....
