OK not unusual but I was at a four way stop when a gent in an Atomic Orange C6 gave me a big thumbs up and a wave.......while I was in my Superformance Shelby Cobra. And just to prove that Corvette's and Cobra's can get along here's a pic at a recent club event a
Great-looking Cobra! Kit car? Which brand? What size engine do you have in it? Did you build it yourself or was it a turn-key? I'd love to have one, but don't know enough about all the different ones out there, and in my experience, a little knowledge is a very dangerous thing.

Superformance is a second generation Cobra that is licensed and sold to Shelby for their continuation series and through their own dealers as a Superformance Mk III. It is built in South Africa and shipped to a Superformance dealer in the US minus the engine to get around the federal bumper and air bag regulations. You then tell the dealer what engine option you want with the car. The entire vehicle is built in a modern plant from scratch and does not depend on a donar car. Hence it is not a kit. The engine is a worked 425hp 351. At a weight of about 2400 lbs it's a pretty wild ride. It would give my Vette a run for the money and that's cranking out almost 550hp at the ground.
Awesome ride... I was visiting my parent's a few years back in Greensboro and took a ride down to Mt. Ulla, NC where Olthoff (sp?) racing used to be (not sure if they're still around). They were/are a Superformance builder/dealer. I got to go for a ride in a 427 car... it was a blast! I used to browse on www.ffcobra.com a bunch and build a kit in my head

I went to high school in Mt. Ulla, and that Hyperformance dealer is still in business on Highway 150 west near there. They even make a Ford GT40 replica now too, it looks really sharp.
