The Baby is incurring major surgery as we speak. Reverse gear keeps "popping-out". Put it in reverse, let out the clutch, and it releases out of gear and then grinds. As of now, it could be the gear or the linkage. However, in order to find out, had to drop the whole transmission. I am $525 into just to drop the trany before finding out the whole problem....Will keep you posted....
Very interested in what you find. My '01 Vert has a similar problem; a little hard to get into reverse and easily pops out every 3rd time...
No grinding though... No problem in any forward gears.
Good luck.
Didn't think it was a normal occurrence. Haven't seen many other, if any, posts of the problem. While the transmission is out though, definitely plan to get a new clutch plate...

Probably a bad shifter pad as GM uses plastic. Should of taken it to RPM Transmissions.
Results are in....Bent shift rod and slave cylinder out of commission. Reverse gear spun.......Having a new clutch put in as well....Bottom line...(drum roll please) $1800...
