I know there are quite a few different answer's ,but what would be the perfect tire size for a front 18x9.5 and a 19x10 rear? The widest tire that could fit on the rim for a 2001 corvette coup without messing anything up? I see alot of different ones used, i was offered 265/35/18 fronts and 285/35/19 rears. looking at tire raack size charts these look ok, but am unsure, so thought i'd ask. is this a good setup?
gonna pull the trigger and would appreciate the input
thanks.

^^You can go to tire rack and look yourself. They provide information on the rim they used to measure the tire on, as well as the range of rim sizes that can be used with that particular tire width.
Make sure the front tire diameter is equal to or less than the rears so you don't have problems with traction control and ABS.

for the rears I am running 295 x 19's on 19 inch wheels. Problem is this size is almost obsolete now, I believe Kumho is the only one listed on tirerack. the extra 10 mm does make a difference imho.
Is there a point at which a wider tire will start throwing stuff back on your fender and tearing it all up?
Also, you have to watch the tread widths in the specs on tire rack. Sometimes a narrower size tire actually has a wider tread width than a wider size, depending on manufacturer and style. The OEM runflats, say what you want about them, have an extremely wide tread for their size.
