What would you do? (C5 rant)
Good Luck with the repairs.
Def shoot me a pm if your over this way, Im actually taking off for the winter (Sept-Mar) back to Fort St John, so Ill be gone til around April if your over here in that time frame.
Most problems people have with Vettes or any other car are induced by the owner or caused by neglect.I bought my 04 CLE new and have had ZERO problems. I also have H/C, headers, a Supercharger etc and still NO problem.
But then again I take car of my cars and don't have problems with any of them.

Very few problems in two years I have owned mine.Tim Glover

There are as many types of owners as there are people, but I'm with vsocks1. I've never had my car in to the shop for repair (excluding recalls and new tires
). Being willing, able and eager to dive in and fix the things that brake as soon as they brake is what makes my car my car
Remember, the reward for taking care of your car is that it won't fight back when you move on to modding it

I definitely wouldn't bash you for letting your To-Do list grow bigger than I'm comfortable, you at least have a list created. We just had my sisters kids over at our house for 2 weeks, so my wife swapped her new minivan for my sisters excursion (seatbelts for 9
). Two days after the monster was at our house (the car, not her kids
) I had fixed her cruise control, two seat belts in back which were jammed, and the 12v accessories plug in front. When my wife mentioned it to her, she didn't even know those things were broken
Whether you decide to fix it or sell it or ignore it, keep us updated. The more solutions we can archive in the forums the more future vette owners will benefit from our experiences. I know pretty much every issue I've had with mine over the years have been solved by the great folks on this forum

Once this mechanic earns your trust, the frustration really goes away. I've got 83k on my 2002 Z06 and do as many repairs as I can, but dont' hesitate to call my mechanic for the rest. Lately I've had some computer/electrical issues. If I had to deal with a dealership I probably would have sold the car too. But I have a trusted Vette mechanic. Without him, I'd be lost. Heck, he's met me at my house to diagnose a problem before.
Good luck. It gets frustrating when any car acts up and gives you problems. Just work through them and get it back to performing the way you want!
