Default LS1 emblem

I've always admired the Z06's emblem on the the fenders,..clean, unassuming, tasteful. I notice you can now get them from Chevrolet or aftermarket for your LS1. I ran this by a by my two 'car guy' friends(Corvette,Maserati), and they say it's too wannabe looking, that I should accept my bottom feeder LS1 status. I say it's not my ego but, the looks. Opinions?

I say its your car, and your opinion is the only one that counts. I like the Z06 look a-alike LS1 badges and hope to add them to my car some day. I think they add a nice distinction to the car. go for it.

I'd like to get the LS1 badges too one day but I just have a real issue shelling out $100 a piece for them when you can get the Z badges for $25. I currently have the LS1 lettering on the fenders.

Funny story with that was at a show and shine last summer this family walked up to my car and the dad said, "Look! It's one of those special LS1 editions!" and commenced to tell his wife and son all about the special LS1 edition that Chevrolet put out of the Corvettes and that led to the Z06. I had to laugh to myself and could bring myself to make him look bad in front of his wife and son.

Look to the left under my right tail lights. I put a SS emblem on mine "for the hell of it". (I blacked it out to be just a little inconspicuous) Wanna guess the what I get asked or ther stories I hear...?

I had the LS1 decals (red) on the fenders and a larger one in the rear, took them all off, looked just a little too tacky. Thinking about getting chrome letters from "Chrome Emblems.com".

since you're running a bottom feeding LS1 (as am I) maybe a nice carp decal would be more appropriate

I think the emblems look just fine on the car. If you like them, get a set.

In my opinion having the LS1 on the fender the same shape as the Z06 is not in good taste to me, It is your car do as you wish, Anyone that known C5's knows it has an LS1.
Just my thoughts.

Its sort of tacky to me - kind of like people are hoping no one will notice its really not a Z06.

Its almost as bad as those 03 owners who slap 50th anniversary edition emblems on the fenders . I saw a car once that had it etched into the windows And it wasn't even a 50th anniversary edition.

Why mess with perfection?

Forgot to ask; what do your "car guy" buddies refer to your Miata as?

I don't think they look bad. I just wish someone would make them out of the same material as the factory Zo6 emblems and sold them for $25. My problem is having $200 worth of aluminum hanging on the fender with a little sticky tape. I will not get into the "tacky" discussion other than to say there are a lot of rear brake ducts, red calipers, Zo6 styled wheels and front screens installed and you don't hear "tacky" used much to describe those "mods". After all the emblems say Ls1 not Zo6 and I assume most people can read. It would be different if you were putting a Zo6 emblem on a car that did not have the Zo6 package. Then I would say you were a pretender.

I think it would make you look like a poser. I just never liked emblems like that on a non ZO6.

Keep the external mods to a minimum. Then I think the LS1 emblem should look OK.
