I think you're referring to the back release lever. Check out "vette essentials" web site and the installation instructions have a couple pictures of how to get them off. I just replaced mine when I changed my seat color. The "T" lever will have to be painted if you're changing color. The site shows how to take the side pieces off as well. Good luck.

If you are talking about the plastic cover on the side of the seat, it isn't as easy as it looks. I finally took the seat out of the car and it was easy. There are 2 screws, one on the side and one from the bottom. The lever is held on by a 'C' spring clamp. Use a small screw driver to pop the spring off and pull off the lever. Remove the plastic cover and replace with the new one. You may have to play with this a little. It looks like this won't work, but it does. When you are ready to replace the lever, put the 'C' clamp on the lever in the correct location and slip the lever on the pin. The C spring clamp should just slide on also. Put the seat back.
