Default Shale Floor Mats?

I have an 04 CE Vert and I am trying to decide on a color alternative for the floor mats.
The Shale is very light, so I am leaning towards a darker color.
What colors contrast well with the shale but match the other interior colors?
Lt Oak?
Has anyone seen other color mats in a CE with the Shale interior?

Thanks!

I put a set of oak mats in my AE for DD and they are noticably different than the shale. I too have been considering something else and am leaning toward maroon. Black won't look good but I wanna save my new shale mats for shows and stuff.

I too have considered options to protect the shale mats. I've seen clear vinyl placed over shale mats, but for me personally, it gave off a vibe like that of Grandma's plastic covered sofa from the 70's. Never thought of body colored dark red for the A/E or or dark blue for a C/E, decent idea. Any other thoughts?

I have an Anny and did the mats in Maroon to match the color of the car. It made the car much more dirt friendly.

non of the current 97-09 colors are even close to the neutral...

it would have to be a non corvette color...

I understand what you are trying for as I have an 04 CE also, but, I think the options stink. Bite the bullet and replace when you have to. It's too bad you can't just buy the drivers mat separately as that is the one you will have more of an issue with.
I'll put my stock mat over the Lloyds when I wash my car, and on occasion I have left it in place for a while. Doesn't look great, but a plastic cover doesn't either.

I also have a '04 CE vert, and I just get new shale mats every few years. Just got a new set of Lloyds mats with the C5 logo, look great.

But...... I keep my clear covers on and take them off when I show the car. They really do protect the mats, much cheaper than replacing them. David

Thanks everyone! Seems as though the CE has limitations... I was hoping for the light/dark contrast but I do want the mats to match the darker colors of the interior. The shale mats get so dirty, so fast.
We need the Lloyds mats to match in one of the other interior colors for a good contrast and dirt hiding.

I see that the other interior color is Neutral, but there are two other interior colors?
One color is darker than the other, I would guess that the lighter color is the Neutral, what is the darker color?
The carpets and the seats are the Shale color, at least that is my understanding...
