I purchased a 09 Z06 last week. Traded in my 98 C5 coupe w/29,7xx miles. I did okay on the deal. The Z06 was MSRP of $80,015 and I wrote them a check for the amount of $51,538 for the differance. That was out the door, but not including TT&L.

The dealer has my old C5 on the lot for $20,825.
sounds like the dealer got the short end of the stick on that deal, but that ok.......

I have spent the last few weeks looking and I don't think much is changing for the older C5's. Now the early C6's have dropped considerably since 0% was offered last week. I was looking at a '05 that dealer dropped 5K yesterday to under 30K to make the deal. They were very firm at $34,900 last week.
$17,500. I bought the Z06 with the GMS which was $69,038. Dealer told me they would rather have C5's as trade-ins vs C6's so the used car lot was not in competition with the new car lot.
Don't forget, dealer gets a % of completed new car sales at the end of the year from GM -- it's called "holdback" -- and that $ is added profit. (Google "GM holdback" for details)
Here in the NW, Vette prices tend to be higher. C5s seem to be holding their own (except for high-mileage examples), but 2005 C6s are running only a couple thousand more than late C5s.
