Default Run Flats Really Work

I apparently drove over a metal object the other day. I immediately heard something! and then felt the handling change. A few seconds later in the HUD the check gages sign appeared. The DIC read reduced handling, flat tire left rear, maximum speed 55mph. I had tee time 20 miles away and continued to the golf course never exceeding 55mph. I finally looked at the tire and saw it was lower than normal. Finished my round of golf (shot 77) and drove home (25 miles away at 55mph or less). The run flat technology really worked well. I could feel the difference in handling and was careful on turns, etc. The tire shop could not repair the flat and had to order a new tire (covered under warranty).

Details: 2003 C-5 Anniversary Edition Coupe
Michelin A/S ZP tires
3180 miles on the tire, 1/32nd wear.

I replaced the Goodyears at 38,812 miles with the Michelins under recommendation of many members of the forum. I thank them again for their advice. The Michelins are great tires and their run flat technology works.

I had that happen too. Allowed me to drive 25 miles to the tire shop.

Sorry about the tire, glad the ZP's worked for you.
