Default Radiator screen

A couple of weeks ago when I was waxin the Vette I found a plastic grocery store bag stuck up in the radiator. Prompted me to check out the screen thingy. I read a few posts on making one and saw some made-to-fit ones, too (kinda spendy). I live about 250 miles from the nearest Lowes or Home Depot and planned on picking up some screen material the next time I went to Reno. I then found one on E outfit that was selling for $45.00. I thought, what the heck, I'd spend a lot more than that on gas and a hotel room. I went ahead and took the chance and ordered one. Well, it got here yesterday, took me ten minutes to install it this morning and I think it's gonna work quite nicely. So simple it's scary! I hope it doesn't restrict the airflow. I'm sure it won't be as bad as a plastic bag

I'd wait until I was close to a Home Depot.

This is one of those mods that is on my list, but I just haven't got around to it. Headers, cats, X pipe, 4.10s, Callaway CAI, Anti-Venom mod, Blah, Blah, blah, but this $5, 15 minute mod? I just can't get around to it.

I check mine very often, nothing more than leaves so far. A good winter project though

Same thing happened to me 2 years ago. Plastic bag blocking 1/3 the radiator. Put the screen on and nice and clean up there. It doesn't seem to block any airflow at all.

Sounds like you got a good deal. It shouldn't restrict the airflow enough to worry about.

Hi There PETE O,
I installed the one from elite engineering about 1 1/2 years ago.Nice custom fit.No more bags or any other junk. Coolant temps. remain unaffected. If you got one made by elite & not a home made one on e-bay you got a nice price break.

Yeah, the top photo is the one I got. Such an easly install, maybe 20 minutes and that included pulling it up on the ramps and gatherin up the tools.
