Default Is it worth it?

I'm just getting started on modifications to my 99 c5. I put in vararam and am pleased.... I do not plan on heads / cam. I am in the process of a full exhaust system. I want to make some power but not get crazy. So my question is this...is it worth it to start doing something like porting the TB or putting in an LS6 intake to get that little extra power or i am wasting my time with this mod on a stock LS1??

Personally I would buy the ls6 intake and cam it would make a world of difference but i understand your not looking to change the cam yet.
Its only about 400 bucks for a used ls6 intake and cam from what i've seen, check these forums and ebay. you would probably have to change the valve springs too.

I paid 300.00 for a new LS6 intake ( bought on Ebay ) plus I paid $100.00 for the install

Gained 10 rwhp, worth it? I guess, it all adds up.

I would opt for headers first, little more $$$, but worth every penny.

Remember an engine is like a air pump when you put on a vararam you need to do a mod to get the air out.
Get long tube headers with high flow cats and a nice cat back system.
Pay for a dyno tune to get it all working right.

You will be pleased

The LS6 intake will make a little bit of difference, but the LT headers will do more. I'd do those first.
