I'll be starting my 3rd year of college next month and I have been thinking about rewarding myself with a used Vette.

I can't afford a whole lot, but I wanted to stay away from C4's because I just don't like the style.

I found what appears to be a clean 99 that is apparently super charged and it seems like a good deal. I have not checked it out yet, but the car looks clean, but it has a lot of miles.

My question is whether or not I should be scared of a high mile supercharged car. I really can't afford a whole lot of maintenance because the purchase price is pretty close to my limit considering my expenses with school.

There are no other C5's for this much money, but I think the low price may be more to do with the high miles than any problems. I would of course test drive it first, but I really don't have any experience with high powered cars, so I wouldn't really know what to look for. I also don't want to waste his time, nor mine if it is something I should stay away from in the first place.

Thanks in advance guys.

IMO, if you cant afford a lot, then I would stay away from a highly modded Vette. Try and find a good deal on a stock Vette or lightly modded one. There are plenty out there.
