Maybe take the side molding off "I hated mine and ripped those off asap" and then put that decal on the lower rocker below the door in a really dark grey?

I like it. kinda adds to the car breaks up the solid line.color is not over powering.

Not for me but if you have the money and the time, do what GB Vette aka Gary has done.
Gary took the corvette from the rear fascia nad put it on his doors down near the bottom. Gary did a fanatistic job.

Here are some pics of his work. It is hard to see but it is there!!!
