I agree, very easy to drive. i've been using Tahoe's as my daily drivers for 8-9 yrs now (it's like driving sitting on a couch) The Z06 it's very fun & easy. the best part is you become "involved in driving". so fun.
so much torque that you could pretty much leave it in 3rd or 4th gear and never shift. Clutch pedal is firm and engagement is quick but the amount of torque makes it fairly idiot proof. Just keep a light right foot.. too much throttle and you'll be sideways and smoking your tires.
Can you find a relative/friend's car to practice on? Like others have mentioned, the pedal effort is surprisingly light, but the clutch is a LOT of labor to replace, and even if you do it yourself, it's not cheap.
As a new Z06 owner and first time 6-speed and hydraulic clutch user I'd say that it's VERY easy to drive once you learn the shift pattern and get used to lack of 'feel' through the clutch as compared to a mechanical clutch.
One surprise to me was how quickly I needed to work through 1st and 2nd...I hit the rev limiter in 1st more than a few times the first day
It is a great experience working through the gears...wouldn't miss it for anything. Makes my day every time.
I do hate the 1-4 thing , but I have the bypass on order
what do you mean by that? you wanted to shift first to 4th but couldnt?
The car comes with a facility called CAGS. CAGS forces you to shift from 1st to 4th under certain circumstances. Most owners install a "CAGS defeat" to turn off this function.
The defeat costs about $20.00 and takes 5 minutes to install. It can be removed at any time to return the car to stock.
The manual is very easy to drive in the Z06. I've been driving a stick for 20 years. Even with that experience I would still occasionally stall the engine in various 4-cylinder foreign cars I've owned. They provided no feedback as you were disengaging the clutch. There is ample feedback with the Z06, not to mention the abundant torque. The combination of those two factors make the car very easy to drive.

What he said I love working through the gears, so it drives me kinda nuts. I'm learning to just hold it a little longer in 1st

You can save $20 by training yourself to avoid the CAGS. It only forces a 1 to 4 shift under light throttle between the speeds of 15 and 20 mph. If you shift to second before 15 or after 20 or use an aggressive throttle then CAGS doesn't activate.
