Default C5Z vs 93 Stealth TT

I know the Stealth is about 700# heavier. Mine was pushing 360 hp. It was a nice car for carving the canyons up in the mountains with the 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel steering. Does the C5Z handle better, a lot better or trying to compare Boone's Farm to Crystal. I'm sure there are people in here that have driven both. Going to pick a C5Z up in the next few months and just wondering.

I've been researching Corvette's for about 3 months and decided on the 2002-2004.

I went from a 93TT to a C5, it was night and day... My TT was mod but the vette just hauls.. You'll love the tranny in the c5 compared to the stealth it can handle whatever you throw at it. it won't cry when you downshift and try to lock you out haha

There is no comparison between the two in any category.

I had a 95 Stealth RT/TT, but this was 11 years ago.

There's no comparison between the C5Z and the RT/TT. First the RT/TT had slow and vague steering, it was heavy (not 700 lbs heavier but about 400 to 500 heavier than a C5Z).
My RT/TT was mildly modified, but the torque on the the C5Z is instant and immediate.
Also the RT/TT understeered a lot.

Get the C5Z you won't regret it.

By FAR the Z. My folk's had a RT TT and it felt very heavy, the steering was heavy, and it wasn't nearly as fast as my Z, which I now have of course.

I had a 93 VR4.
When I was at about 425awhp, I put quite a few cars on a 2001 Z06 from 40-140.
After I tweaked it to 538awhp/502awtq, it started to become real fun.
I really miss that car.
It handled great since the awd allowed me to accelerate hard thru corners with minimal fear of losing the rear end.
It was about 3700lbs without me in it, but it was a great daily driver.
Very capable.
The nice part about the C5 Z is that you are starting with a very light car, and even adding FI doesn't bring the total weight up too much, so power to weight stays strong.
Also the v8 engine allows big power on 93 octane provided the tune is well done.
Definitely a different feel on the road, but overall, I'd say a more capable platform to start with.
Can't go wrong with a C5 Z06!

I've owned a few 3/S cars, including a mid-low 11 second VR-4. They are 2 totally different animals - apples to oranges. You really have to drive a Z06 and make your own comparisons. My biggest complaint with the 3/S is the absolutely numb, over-boosted/assisted steering (Z06 is better, but not great) and the pitifully undersized brakes (1st gens, 2nd not that much better, though..). From a handling perspective, the Z06 is precision tool that cuts like a razor blade in tight, windy environments. The car is much snappier and more tossable feeling, but not nearly as confidence inspiring. It's handling doesn't really shine until put into an environment to show off its footwork. Just driving around town, the Z06 feels much bigger and almost cumbersome in some respects. The 3/S in comparison, handles remarkably well for carrying another 600lbs of weight or so. In most situations, the 3/S doesn't feel as heavy as the scales will tell you.

In all honesty, when it comes to ultra-high speed cruising and carving long sweeping turns, I'd much rather be in a 3/S. You can cruise at 130+MPH and think nothing off it; the Z06 is much more excitable in those types of situations.
