C5 Xtreme system arrived!
Just got it in the mail, can't wait to install it!
(I didn't take the sleeves off the tips yet, will do that after they are all safe and bolted up.)
Mufflers are SMALL compared to my current Corsa Pace system - this will be loud!

Do you already have an x-pipe? I ordered the corsa X, they highly reccommed it to complete the extreme's sound. But if you have some LT's with an X...it should sound awesome!

Ive got pace cars. This is crazy. What is the purpose of the muffler? Are there baffles in the pipe that direct some gas/noise to the muffler? Where does this then exit. If exhaust gases dont go through the muffler, perhaps it acts like a drum to amplify noise pulses.

It works the way a B&B PRT sytem does. Somehow noise goes in there, does a complete turn around and comes out with the wave 180*from what it was. That wave being opposite cancels out another one of the same frequency.
The size of the chamber affects what frequency the back pulse from the muffler returns to the exhaust pipe exactly 180* out of phase. The size of the chamber effectively controls what frequencies are reduced. Its my understanding the higher pitched frequencies that cause drone and resonance get canceled.
This way only the frequencies you dont want to hear are canceled, but because the size of that chamber is fixed it can only chancel out a small range of frequencies.
And enough taking pictures, go bolt this thing on already!!
