Default Trunk lid emblem replacement

Has anyone replaced one of these? How difficult is it? I found the emblem here but am unsure if I'll have to take apart the trunk lid to get at the emblem. Is it installed with nut and bolts or 3m tape?

Is there a best method for removing the old one that is beginning to peel along the edges? I don't want to chip that paint! Maybe alcohol?

use fish line to saw off the old emblem ... WD 40 and some thumb rubbing will clean up the excess ... clean the area with alcohol real good and the apply the new one ... be careful you only get 1 shot at getting it right.

Put the car out in the summer sun or apply heat (heat gun or hair dryer) enough to soften the double sided adhesive. Then use dental floss (cinnamon is my preference) or thin fishing line to saw cut and lift the emblem off.
Rub the old double sided tape off with your fingers...the blisters will heal in a week.
Clean the area with denatured alcohol or polish and attach the new emblem in the same position.
Some members have intentionally removed the rear emblem for the smooth look. It's your car to do with as you please.

Just pull it off, easy. You can use some fishing line or some heavy duty floss. Then use some goo-B-gone to get the old tape off.

I left mine off, I think it looks cleaner.

Take it off and leave it off..... So much easier to clean the rear deck. I took mine off 5 years ago and don't miss it.

All right, that sucker is coming off. I can always cough up 45 stinking bucks for a new one down the line, if I choose.

BTW, I'm a big Bass Fisherman down here in Florida. You fisherman... what line do you suggest I use for removal? Braid? Flurocarbon? Regular mono? ha ha!

Removed the rear emblem but can't get rid of the shadow that was left after it's removal...polished and compounded the area but the outline of the emblem still shows under certaining conditions...BTY the front emblem has two alignment pins so if removed you have two holes in the fascia to fill/paint .Rear deck does look much better without the emblem.

I had the same problem when I took mine off. Over time (6mos) and with coats of zaino and some clay bar, I can't see it anymore.
