Exterior LEDs
I started out with some side vent lights. I went with red LED strips. I think the torch red paint really amplifies the effect of the lights. it lights up the garage door behind, the ground all around it, and the mirrors when they aren't folded in. if you look at it you can see the dot pattern created by the individual LEDs, but I think it looks neat.

I also got this idea from another forum member's pictures. I decided to expand upon it alittle. I added some Audi R8 style white LED running lights to the front of the car. these are also LED strips, with the addition of some LED flood lights which I mounted in the stock location for the European parking lights. there was an imprint of a circle there as a template and everything. it was much more of a pain to install them than I thought, but I really like the way it turned out.

Just thought I'd share!

especially the front duct lights... Great job!

Hey if you wanna make the Gill lights work with the turn signals check here;

they are all Oznium LEDs. the strips are the waterproof flexible LED strips. the ones in the vent lights are mounted with the supplied 3M adhesive strip to a strait piece of Lexan which I cut. the small lip on the vent would otherwise block the light, this 1/4" spacer put it right where I wanted it to be. then its 3m foam taped to the inside of the vent. They don't flash with the turn signals but it would be very easy to make that work in my case, no relays, just splice it in...because of the way I've redesigned my front turn signals and eliminated the DRL's. I can post some info about that up also if anyone is interested!
the front strip lights are 3m adhesive taped to the underside of the bumper cover, I just lined it up with the point where the bumper meets the fog light bezel and slipped the wire up in between the two on the outside edge. the flood lights were more difficult to install. as I mentioned I used the stock location for the euro parking lights or whatever they are. there just to the outside of the fog lights and have a circular impression on the fog light bezel. its easy to see from the inside with the headlight removed. I cut it from the outside since the drill with hole saw didn't fit in side. a 15mm hole and the flood light slipped right in. I screwed up the mounting pretty bad and had to improvse a way to hold it in place. it worked great in the end, but if I had to do it over agin I would definitely remove the fog light bezel to do the install. I have a vararam so I thought I could avoid having to take that step and install when it was on there. if anyone else wants to try this, definitely take it off!
I'll get some more pics including some daylight shots today. I need to go wash the vette!
btw the vent lights are 9.5" strips, and the front lights are 19" strips, but I had to cut them down a bit. 9.5" would not have covered the whole opening and I wanted it full. I had to cut off about 5" of the 19" strip though :-( but I plan to try to solder some new leads onto it and re-use that section.

this is what they look like in daylight. the floodlight looks blue because it is...I originally had them all blue then decided that I really didn't like that look. especially after seeing an Audi with the white LED running lights I decided to switch it all to white. my white floodlights are backordered so for right now the strip is white and the flood lights are blue. I don't use them on the roads anyway, although once they are completely white I don't see why I couldn't

here's a close up of the install of the flood light and the strip light

and the vent lights as installed during the day time
