Default ok...another ac problem

i had my driver side actuator replaces (air door actuator/blend door actuator whatever you want to call it) b/c my driver side was blowing how and the passenger side was coled. i replaces the actuator and refilled it with freon and all that jazz-452.00$....for about 3 1/2 weeks it was ice cold....now its blowing hot again. after it was fixed the guy said to come back again so he can check for leaks( and rambles on something about some dye) do you guys think its a leak now or what?

Sounds like a leak to me. If you have a UV(black) light, start poking around under the hood. The dye they put in the freon has a UV reflective tint. If there's a leak, you'll see it glowing easily.
If you know where it's leaking from, you can tell your mechanic exactly what you want replaced, if you don't do the work yourself.

sounds like a leak, the guy I bought my car from had just got done filling up the a/c with a can from walmart when I got there to test drive it. Was ice cold and then 3 days later I drove it again and warm air. He forgot to mention that theres a leak...I'd also be curious to know, when they find the leak how is it repaired? Gasket replaced or what?

How it's repaired depends on what is leaking. It could be an O
ring, part of a line or hose, or a component like your compressor..

The dye is in the Freon. It sounds like the guy may have already put the freon w/dye in the system. If so, he or you, can hook up a black light and look for the leak. If the guy didn't put the freon w/dye in the system and you want to take on the task then you can pick up the freon w/dye in Autozone or most auto stores.
