Hey guys bought some Z06 sway bars recently and after i installed them, i experience a clunking noise coming from the front ever time i go over bumps or dips in the road or on acceleration or braking. just wondering if you guys have any ideas what this may be or how to fix it? Thanks alot.
If the end links are not tightened up enough they will clunk over the bumps. Go back and tighten them again real good. Your troubles will then be over.
I put Z06 bars on and had a terrible popping/clunking sound. It was an end link that was just loose enough that the bolt through the bar would slip under load.
If you check that and are sure they are tight then they are likely going bad. It's possible something else is showing up as bad but not too likely.
i removed them when checking the sway bar and retorqued them again. also, i never heard this noise until i put on the Z06 bars.
I hear you... so let me share my experience with you on this. I've had stock F45 sway bars with stock links on my car. I've had T-1 bars and Hiem end links on my car which clunked badly until I tightened the end links to 100 ft lbs of force. I've had Z06 bars on my car with upgraded links. I now have hotchkiss bars with upgraded links. All of this has been on the same car over the last 10 years. Same brackets holding them on the car. Four sets of end links and different bushings for the bars to lay in. The ONLY TIME they clunked was when the end links were not VERY tight.

You may not be able to get a torque wrench on the end nut, so you’ll have to tighten them as best you can, tight as you can. Most important part is placement of swaybars, you gotta make sure you put them on the exact same way the others came off. Make sure they are seated correctly with the bushings on the cross members and the brackets torqued.
Front swaybars…“The bracket bolts need to be torqued to 43lbft using a 13mm socket, and the endlink nuts will once again need to be tightened to 53lbft,”
Rear swaybars…“The torque spec for the nut on the endlinks is 53lbft. The top bolt should be tightened to 49lbft, while the bottom nut should be torqued to 70lbft.”
The torque specs are mentioned in the above link. Probably the only nuts you will be able to torque will be the cross-member brackets, when I changed my swaybars, that’s all I could torque, just muscled the endlinks, and it’s all fine.
