most people you meet think because you have a "Vette" you are... well lets say...very well off.
I was at a party the other night and was talking to a woman who turned out to be a dentist. We were talking teeth lol and at one point she said to me.....you wouldn't want to spend the $ on an implant and you drive a "vette"? lol
I'm not doing bad but hey.....could always do better. and will always try to.
Let them think what they want. People just don't realize what a bargain a Corvette is.
Exactly! I've heard the old "they must be paying you too much" comments (usually in good humor) and then I explain to folks how affordable used vettes are, and I like to point out that my car payments are less than my wife's Honda and I get better gas mileage too!
Don't bring up implantsGoing thru the process now.......got down to my best option 3K
I need them as well. My estimate was a lot more! My option is for them to pull the bottom teeth on both sides and put in a removable bridge like thing. Implants cost from two different dentist run $1,500 to $3,000 each! At any rate, yes people think you are rich if you have a vette. Mine is a 2004 that I bought last October and I got the smallest raise recently since I've been with the company. In a meeting last week his boss commented in front of everyone, that I must be rich, I drive a vette. I had to point out it was 4 years old and cost less then half of his new loaded upper end Lexus! He has a couple of houses, just bought a new boat (26'), jet ski, ... I don't have any of that! So now, I wonder would I have gottin a bigger raise if I did not buy the vette? It's my only car (daily driver)? People are funny, they don't want you to be doing as well as them.
Saw some nice implants at Hooters the other day! I hear the same crap sometimes,,and I politely inform them I got my 8yr old FRC for about the price of a well equipped Focus or other compact econo box! A lot of them think it's new!!

This is why nobody at the company I work for even knows I own a Vette...Guess I do sometimes like the outside feeling that I'm rolling in $ (NOT) RE: the dental stuff, bridge was only 250-300 less but you still get two other teeth potentially involved down the road...........thus the Implant being the best choice in my case
I always get those responses even from my C3. I paid about the same for my C5 as most people pay for a new truck and alot of cars. I just laugh about it.

Very true ! I do have one implant and I would never do it again if there was another option. She also used to own a C5 but her mother told her.....this is not a "doctor car" lol
