i believe it's the cheapest way to have a camera mount (no drilling necessary) .. i was debating to get a camera mount with suction cups but couldn't make sure if it would work with my digital camera and didn't wanna spend $80...instead i went with walmart tripod for $12 ,adjustable strap (w/hooks) for $2..
Could you take a couple of better shots of how you strapped it in?? That is very clever and resourceful !! I even have some old tripods laying around.You are a TRUE forum type thinker!!

I have to put your Video cam DIY in the same folder as our declaration of fuel economy in a modded C5, IE; No one would believe me!! That defies reason, but it works!! I think everyone has one or two of these things buried somewhere in the house. Good job.
