Looking for "how to" replace targa weatherstripping

The weather strip on my 97's targa top is starting to dissolve causing wind and water leaks even in light rain.

a) where can i get targa weather stripping?
b) how do i remove the old/install the new?

I know ecklers sells the weatherstripping....as far as replacement goes...it's as easy as removing the old stuff then sticking the new stuff on....2 screws and 2 push pins for the rear piece. The front doesn't look much harder. I did the rear strip and the 2 on the targa top in about an hour on my coupe.

Super easy, if you just look at it you'll instantly know how to replace it. I thikn its $70 a side from gmpartshouse.com

while i'm waiting, would it help to seal the damaged areas with silicone?

I did that with some black silicone....it didn't help much...but kept some of the rain out until my stripping arrived.

Don't forget to reseal the blowout clips while you're replacing the tops weatherstripping.
