Default Debating Lowering My Z06...

I'm thinking about lowering it, but am concerned about ground clearance. At the stock height I have difficulties pulling into some parking lots, etc... I was wondering what people's experiences have been? Am I thinking too far into it? Is it really not that bad? Any suggestions as to how low I should go? Thanks for the feedback!!

Lower It!!

Start with lowering it on stock bolts. See how well you like it and how it rides, etc. Then if you think you want to lower it even more, cut the bushings. But lowering it is something you should do!

Like the man said, try it on stock bolts first. Some people like it low as possible, most find the ride suffers at ultra-low ride heights.Do whats best for you and enjoy !

If you are having clearance problems at the stock height and will be traveling the same roads again, you might want to think twice about lowering it. Scrapes are not good. You could get the rocker savers and little wheels that go under the front fascia to help.

I love mine lowered... BUT... If you already scrape on roads better to be safe and not lower it.

Default How low can you go?

I would invest and install fat daddy /fat mammas and also rocker savers. When you drop down on stock bolts w/out cutting your bughings, w/ a Z 06, it really does'nt drop that much. Instead of cutting my bushings I bought a set from a vendor, that does'nt have the bushings on the bottom. It does have just a thin rubber pad on the bottom so your not steel to steel. Looking back, I would have left the adjusters completly out and put a small rubber pad in between. For some reason these Z's dont drop that much in the front. There is no problem getting the rear down enough. Good luck.

I lowered mine and I love the look. It gives it a whole new stance. I do scrape alot though and I only dropped on stock bolts. I have had my exhaust scrape on speed bumps and any drive way that has a steep incline i am going to drag the front end. it make me cringe every time, but I guess it's something I am willing to deal with.

I have no bushings in the front and the longer bolts in the rear and the only thing i've scraped is the front black air deflectors that hang down. I'm lowering it more as soon as my CCW's get here.

I would love to lower mine but with the ACI spoiler and splash guards, which hang lower then the car, I wouldn't be able to drive it anywhere, especially out of my driveway I love the lowered look though.

Just don't cut the bushings and you'll be fine.

If you want lower buy the front C-5 lowering bolts. Several vendors have them

Mine is lowered on the front only...I like the "raked" look of a high ***-end. It's lowered all the way on stock bolts in front. I scrape a lot, but only on the smaller side air deflectors. I love the sound of the scrape and I get a lot of horrifying looks from the neighbors when I pull into my drive

How much difference lowering on stock bolts make?? My other car is lowered and I cant stand looking at the paint under its front spoiler.

I already got A&A's front wheels and rocker panel guards, just did not have the time to lower it.

Do it!
I have the Fat Daddy's and lowered mine on the stock bolts.

You will learn to drive to compensate...slower over dips, taking driveways one wheel at a time, etc. Occasionally, I scrape the plastic air dam and it worse case scenario, the Big Daddy's step in.

I love it lowered!

Lowering has it's issues with bumps/scrapes, but after I lowered mine, I love it.
