Order p/n 10279471 "Plug - FR" Retail for $2.38 each.
The center tab is offset, it installs with the center tab towards the bottom. The tabs are extremely fragile. I ordered 6 recently, 2 for a colleague and four for me. This way I have an extra set handy.
Just a FYI, if the place you order them from doesnt stock them, then you will have to buy a whole bag, which I believe has 12 of them in it. Just ask me how I know that.

When I'm ready to get them, I'll get them from Gene Culleyhttp://www.gmpartshouse.com/ part #10279471 on his site is only $1.76 each, Gene is always very helpful when I need something,
Don't know about that, I just ordered them a week ago. And since I ordered six, two for my friend, we had two bags, broke one bag open to get one out for the total of six, a bag plus one separate.
Ask for a discount after they quote you the 2.38. GM Dealers will often give you a small discount if you ask! My cost was $1.78 each. I always ask and always get cost plus 15%.
Your trouble was you said door bezzel, You needed the plug, I bet the counter guy was looking up the wrong part, My dealer charges like 2.50 and no shipping, You won't find a better price than at the dealer for this item, If you order it you will pay shipping from someone else.

I got lucky, and they had one at my local stealership for about $5.
If OZ is in the U.S., you might want to have a word with your dealer because that part retails for $2.38. At $5.00 a piece they more than doubled the price to you. At best deal, it should have cost you about $1.78 at worst full retail.
Many times if you are buying from a dealer not local to your state, you just pay shipping, no taxes. In most cases, taxes are about the same as shipping. Unfortunately with the rise in the cost of fuel, shipping costs have skyrocketed. For example I just received an order from a dealer in the midwest, the cost was about $40. taxes would have been about $3. shipping was $10. even. Also unfortunately, once the price goes up like with the cost of shipping, it will never go back down even if the price of fuel comes down. Just like we will never see $40-60. barrels of oil again since they know we will pay in the $120-150. range. They test the market to see what it will bear.
So now-a-days, it is more likely cheaper to buy it local. Even if the dealer has to order it, they'll have the part in a day or two unless its urgent, but you still just pay the part cost plus tax.

It is here in the states man. It's Liberal Kansas, or The Land of Oz, and it's on the south-west kansas. I got the little plastic cover last april-march because my GF saw something fall when she got off my car, but never noted to pick it up or to tell me. I found out the next weekend when I was cleaning my baby, and the that little cover was a little less than $5 bucks by a few cents.
