Default Question for those with ACA HID headlights..

I installed a set a couple weeks ago and I worked on adding some cushion around the lamps to minimize the bulb jiggle as a previous post by patches mentioned.

I have a 418ci motor and my car shakes quite a bit anyway. When I drive it appears my ACA HIDs are jiggling (looking at the cutoff line, against street signs). I'm not sure if it's really jiggling or a combination of the road surface and the car itself. Do those of you with aggressive cams notice you have jiggle anyway? I don't want to spend time trying to fix what I think is bulb jiggle but is more car jiggle

I would think at cruise speed the roughness of most cams is not perceptible.

I notice a little bit of jiggle occassionally due to the stiff suspension/runflats but it's pretty steady on a smooth road. I am about to put another set on my haeds/cam MN6 so that may shake the lights a bit more at idle. I'll post about it when I put them in.

Thanks guys. I think I'll have someone drive my car while I watch them hopefully drive towards me and not away

It's just with the ACA's you have that cut off line and it takes some getting used to. Roads around here aren't that great, I need to try it on the highway like mentioned when the cam isn't an issue.

there's also a lot of play in the stock headlamp door arm linkage that can be tightened up to help lessen the jiggle.

try wiggling your headlamp housing when it's in it's fully up and extended position to see what i'm talking about.

i've modified mine and i've got virtually no play in my headlights when they're popped up now.

the lever arm sits behind/ontop of the pin instead of having the pin go thru the hole like stock.

my lights are very firm in the upright position with virtually no up/down wiggle.

Iv'e noticed the shake @ idle.....mine's set @ 750 RPM

It's not noticable while driving

I also put material in the bulb housings which did help some.

I might have to try messing with the arms like the above post.
