Added a Skull shifter **** and adapter to my auto '98. With the **** in place I have to push down to go from OD to 3rd. Is that what is was prior to my install? Or did I mess something up? I think that is normal, but cannot for the life of me remember.

The stock auto shifter has **** you have to push with your thumb to shift. Many of the aftermarket ***** use a sping mechanism like you describe above.

Thanks. That is what I have. In a stock car do you press the button to get from OD to 3rd?
