Does anybody know why SLP doesn't offer a new airbridge with the Blackwing system for C5's? They have a sweet looking bridge for the C6. I haven't been able to reach anybody at SLP and their site isn't much help. Thanks in advance!
Probably because they don't see a need for it when the oem air bridge will work just fine unless you're significantly increasing your horsepower/torque.
CALLAWAY used the oem air bridge on many of their cars.
You can improve on the looks of your oem air bridge with a decal or a ittle paint on the raised emblem. And the oem air bridge won't interfere with your hood liner like most after market over sized products do.
Maybe they're at Carlisle and that's why they're not responding to your inquiries.
I agree with all the replies above, it's not needed, unless you significantly increase the HP of the engine the stock air bridge will supply more than enough air flow. To produce an aftermarket air bridge just solely for aesthetics would appeal to some people but probably not enough to make it a profitable piece. Unless you did something like a carbon fiber air bridge, and it would probably cost as much as the filter, maybe more.
Thanks guys...I didn't think that it would add any noticable horsepower gains, just thought that it "completed" the aftermarket mod look. I do like the look of the bridge they offer for the C6, are they interchangable with the C5?
It may not add bhp but I'm sure it does some good, maybe less turbulence into the manifold.
the smooth coupling vs the stock accordian coupling (turbulant air vs smooth flow) has been a subject of almost as many debates as "body side moldings vs no body side moldings" with nobody able to add any proof one way or another that one is better for the engine than the other
