Well not so much problems anymore. A couple of months back the notorious pia service column lock message popped up on my dash. Well I just forgot about it and went on until about two weeks ago. The dealership fixed it under the recall a few years back. Well the column wouldn't lock or anything like that. Like I said before two weeks ago my car was having problems starting so I knew my battery was goin dead. I rode it out to the last few cranks and once it went dead I then replaced it with an optima red top. The service column lock message completely went away and now the column locks. I have been so confused by this damn thing. Since the car died on me, now i think my few gauge is acting up. Been stranded on the side of interstate twice now when the computer said I had 80miles in the range mode. Any helpful hints on what is goin on with my car?
One thing that struck me strange was why would the column still lock if the dealership fixed it with the column lock recall. When the recall is done the column is not supposed to lock anymore.
If you know how to check for DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) then you should see what's been stored and post them for advice.
