Just got a 2003 C5 Coupe. Great car except there is a problem with the stereo. There is No BASS I don't mean weak base but No bass, all treble. It has the stock GM cassete head unit with a 12CD changer in the center hatch/trunk compartment. The speakers are labled BOSE. In the lefthand hatch/trunk compartment there is what looks like a factory power AMP. Any Idea what I should check?
Thanks in advance!
that isnt the amp... odds are there is a blown fuse for the bose amps, or something isnt plugged in behidn the radio, or the speakers were replaced in the doors
Are you certain that the "Premium" Bose audio system did not have the amp in the Left rear trunk compartment. It sure looks "Factory"? It has GM Delco Delphi tags and all. How certain are you that this is not a factory install? Are you familiar with the "Premium" systems installed in the 2003 Coupes? This car was ordered by the original owner with nearly every availible option.
Thanks in advance!

My 02 has an electrical box in the left rear compartment, hidden under a cheap little velcro carpet flap. I do not believe it is part of the stereo, but rather some sort of control module.
You are correct, this is not part of the stereo but is part of the "supplemental restraint" system, according to the dealers service rep. Having the dealer fix the Bass problem - no charge to me - Yeeh Haw. I'll post when I find what the issue was.
