Ideas on possible transmission issue?
I have a couple small issues with my 2000 Corvette, Automatic, and was hoping to get some ideas on what the problem might be before I take it into a mechanic. The first issue is that when I am sitting idle at a stop light, I get a groaning sound and I feel a pretty strong vibration coming through the pedal of the car. If I put the transmission into neutral the problem goes away but as soon as it's in drive again the vibration comes back. The other issue is when I slow down to a stop, I can feel the car sort of jerking rather than coming to a smooth stop. This only seems to happen if I am slowing down from a higher speed like from 40mph down to 0 and starts right around 25mph. Could both of these issues have something to do with the torque converter? Is a transmission service likely to fix this? The car has right around 56k miles, thanks in advance for any ideas on this.
