Look through the windshield you will see the 2 tabs that you need to compress to allow the mirror to slide up and off the mount. You could use a GM mirror removal tool http://www.technologylk.com/product/...tm?src=froogle
or for a lot less you can use a small curved pry bar such as this one

Just insert the pry bar enough to get under the 2 tabs, and push down on the pry bar towards the windshield, this will compress the 2 tabs allowing you to slide the mirror up and off the mount.
