98 ac actuator valve
The drivers side actuator is easy to get to. Remove the BOSE module up under the dash above your right foot. It is held in place by two machine screws.
Then flip on to your back and slide your head towards the gas and brake pedals and look up under the dash. The actuator is straight up and to the passenger side of the car, attached to the center console. It has a small electrical connector and is held in place by two screws. There will most likely be a small pipe the size of your thumb in the way, so you'll need to move it to gain access to the actuator.
An easy check BEFORE removing the actuator: Start the car and run the AC on MAX. Crawl back under the dash and while watching the actuator, rotate the temperature **** from 60 degrees to 90 degrees, pause, then back to 60 degrees. If the actuator is good, then you will see the actuator rotating the hot deck/cold deck door shaft. If you hear some clicking and it doesn't move, then you probably have a cracked gear... time to replace the actuator.
Hope this helps.
